The construction of the Nagdhunga Tunnel has now reached the phase of 'breakthrough.' According to the details made public by the organizers on Tuesday (Mangsir 5, 2080), only 200.60 meters are left to be excavated for this tunnel's 'breakthrough.' The total length of this tunnel is 2,688 meters, out of which 2,487 meters of excavation work have been completed.
As per the project director Navinman Shrestha, the Rescue Tunnel of this project has also undergone a 'breakthrough.' This rescue tunnel measures 2,557 meters in length and achieved its breakthrough on August 7, 2023. The overall physical progress of the tunnel has reached 96.40%. The project has indicated that only 3.60% of physical progress remains pending.
The physical progress of all structures, including the tunnel, has reportedly reached 65.36%, as per the project report. Along with the tunnel, work is ongoing on underpasses, box culverts, overpasses, bridges, and flyovers in this area.
